Xinhua - China’s astronauts have been testing new varieties of traditional Chinese medicine that could help treat osteoporosis, insomnia and improve immunity.

Doctors with the China Astronaut Research and Training Center say the new remedies will be prepared for sale after further tests during the country’s third manned space program in 2008. Read more

Signing of Four MOUs a Major Step Forward in Cooperation

HK gov release - Chinese medicine received a significant shot in the arm today with the signing of four memorandums of understanding between Canadian and Hong Kong institutes.

The four MOUs cover collaboration in the research, technology transfer, commercialisation and promotion of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and health products in the two markets. Read more

Herb prices to jump as supplies shrink: Chinese officials

Xinhua - Traditional Chinese medicine patients are set to pay more for their remedies this year because of dwindling supplies.

The prices of 262 frequently used herbs– 52.4% of the key 500 herbs — rose in the first half year, according to China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy (CATCMP). Read more
